Cue the Confetti!

Have you ever been a fan of something for so long (like, since the 80's) and then all of the sudden in the year 2014ish it becomes wildly popular? Back when I was decorating my oldest sons bedroom, I chose this really fun chevron print for his curtains and what do you know...Chevron became the most popular pattern about a year later.

So, since the 80's, I've loved parties. I never knew that my passion would become parties or even a business at that, but I knew I'd take after my mom in styling parties and love planning them! It was during a session at Stationery Academy in 2011 when I was really able to drill down to what moved me in my paper business. Sure, I still love the hand written note, planners and calendars, but my true love is the art of the party.

As a graduate of not one, but two Stationery Academy conferences, I just adore the gals who speak, schedule and put the whole sha-bang on! This next class of attendees is going to be getting some fun goodie bags each day and I hope my treat of glittered confetti sticks, handmade my moi, adds a little sparkle to their weekend!

Resolution: Meal Planning

Happy New Year! How are we already half way though January?! I feel like I just finished celebrating (and putting away) Christmas! I hope this year slows down a little so we have time to stop and smell the roses!

In an effort to organize my family (and myself!), I made this super cool, printable menu planner. All you have to do is download, print it out and trim it down the middle and voila! Part 1 of meal planning is complete! To get the planner, click here and note that it will go wherever you have your 'downloads' set to save.

I'd love to hear your favorite EASY weeknight meals- post below and be entered into a drawing to win a set of personalized recipe cards! (We are feeling very generous today!) That's a $15 value just for giving us an idea for an easy meal. You.Can't.Beat.That.

Treats with Santa

The holidays are fast approaching (this year has FLOWN by!) and we were so fortunate to get started on the preparation a little earlier in the year because we were invited to design a table for the Dallas alumnae chapter of my sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma.

As you know, designing is a passion. What you may not know is that I absolutely adore celebrating children, and their parties! You can imagine the thought and preparation that went into making this table sweet, celebratory, and festive.

So many things were designed and we are just so proud of our work.

Merry Merry from Between the Sheets Co!

Thanksgiving!

Seven years ago, we had a little dream. Six years ago we decided to, as my pal Whitney English would say, "Go Ugly Early." Meaning, we launched with a few designs of notecards and labels.

Little did we know the passion of parties and children would overtake our small business. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to share the first plate I ever designed for Thanksgiving. It's online still today, and a popular choice for those who order plates!

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Free Download- I'm Thankful

As the week before Thanksgiving is upon us, I want you to try something with your family or close friends. As a group, I want you to sit together whether on Skype or at the kitchen table, and I want you to reflect on the past year. Remember the good the bad and the ugly. Ask each person what their favorite memory was for the year. What was the worst day of the year? What is one thing you hope to do together as a family next year? Next week? Tomorrow?

When thinking about the past days, weeks and months, I want you to write down your feelings, your thoughts, your battles, your successes. Use this free worksheet to let your family see the accomplishments of the year and also the needs of the next. Use this time to be thankful. Say a prayer. Communicate.

This worksheet can be downloaded as many times as you'd like. Feel free to schedule time with your family each month to do this exercise.

I am thankful for each of you in helping this big dream of mine continue to grow. I am thankful for my family and friends, neighbors and colleagues.

Party Recap- Sunshine for Ava

We have a sweet client who let us pretty much do the invite of our dreams for her daughter's first birthday. Ava, the sweet birthday gal, was the muse behind the invitation, which we designed to be more sweet and subtle, than in your face. Using the shape of the sun as another inspiration, this invitation and party was bright, fun and oh-so sweet.

For this party, we designed the invitation, food signs, 8 x 10" framed prints, banner and favor tags. Photography courtesy of Lauren Lionberger.

Halloween Party Planning

If there is a holiday that I absolutely love for my kiddos...it's Halloween! Since my oldest was 2, we've been the house on the block that has the 'pre-party.' Nothing huge, just some treats and drinks, then off to trick-or-treating!

To get myself into the spirit, I like to start thinking about my Halloween party early in September and put little things away all year long. In my office, I have plastic bins, organized by holiday, making it easy to store. It also makes it easy for me to do a quick inventory of what is on hand and what I need to purchase or borrow for the party.

This year, I am working on a super cute theme...hint: there is a lot of black and white going on. Stay tuned for pics and free downloads!
